We aim to make it easy for arcade enthusiasts, stick builders and retro gamers to interact with their consoles, computers and DIY arcade projects.
What is KADE
KADE is growing with a 2015 kickstarter!
KADE is a ground breaking combination of hardware, firmware and software which comes together in one neat package for the ultimate encoder experience.
KADE is compatible with many computers and consoles and support for other systems is constantly being worked on.
Who are KADE
We comprise of a core development team: Jon Wilson (Degenatrons), Bruno Freitas (Bootsector), and Kevin Mackett (Sharpfork).
Jon is a software engineer with over 20 years programming experience. He likes to make electronic things. Prior to KADE he spent much of his spare time building arcade machines. Link: https://sites.google.com/site/degenatrons/home
Bruno is a cool guy from Brazil who makes cool stuff .
Kevin has filled a variety of hardware and software development roles and currently works in systems integrations. He grew up in arcades and loves to help people bring the 80’s arcade experience home. Prior to KADE he spent way too much time doing padhacks for cabinets.
KADE is bursting with features
It has extensive customisation options that put you firmly in control. You get to choose the system (from those supported) and the functions that suit your specific project.
KADE is user friendly
It’s easy to put together, it’s easy to configure, it’s easy to program and it’s easy to wire up to your controls. Did I mention that it was easy.
KADE is community friendly
The source code for the various firmware which powers the KADE is open source. This has been done in an effort to work with the community, to increase the number of supported systems and to accelerate the development process.
The KADE hardware is open source too. The schematics and build instructions will be made available for DIY’ers who want to build their own devices. Kits will also be available for those who need a little help to get started.
KADE is affordable
KADE is the most affordable configurable multi use encoder on the market. If you are confident with DIY then you can even make your own and save more.
If you’re a control freak then quite simply, you need a KADE.
